This week, we are taking a trip to the 1997 to revisit Greg’s time as a DJ at 91.3 WDOM in Providence, RI hosting a weekly metal show called The Metal Meltdown! In October of 1997, 19 year old Greg interviewed local RI metal DJ Dr. Metal aka Mike Gonsalves who hosted the biggest metal show in town every saturday night from 12pm-2am called The Metal Zone on 94.1 WHJY. In addition to being an awesome show, Dr. Metal was a huge influence on Greg’s radio show and helped Greg get some contacts in the industry for getting cds sent to the station. Unfortunately we lost Doc in 2003 during the Station Nightclub Fire which killed 100 people and injured 230. This episode is a rest in power tribute to him and all the others who lost their lives that night. I hope you all enjoy this blast from the past. This is a Ret Con Industries production.

This week Greg is talking with Eden Rayz! Eden is a spectacular cellist/vocalist/composer in the Boston area. She currently sings for the bands Scaphism and Angel Grinder but is also preparing an ep of her cello/composition work called Corpus Vice which will be released later this year. We talk about her journey including her musical upbringing, the differences between studying a classical instrument at Berklee College of Music as opposed to a traditional conservatory, her master's degree in composting from Boston Conservatory, how she got into singing metal and forming bands, as well her penchant for writing and performing blasphemous music, and ion course all the usual tangents.
